Elizabeth Barton UKCPS
Elizabeth graduated in fine art in 1982 from Otago in New Zealand and travelled to London in 1985 where she worked as an artist and illustrator. Clients included Penguin Books, Hodder and Stoughton, Daily Telegraph and Broadgate. She also exhibited her art and was a member of the Society of Graphic fine Art in the mid 1990s.
In 2000 she left commercial illustration to train as a pilot, and holds a professional pilot’s licence.
In 2009 Elizabeth made a return to fine art, and rejoined the Society of Graphic Fine Art.
While working in art previously, she discovered colour pencils which have become a favourite medium. Many of her large scale and detailed works are done with Polychromos pencils, chosen for their vibrant range of colour and light fastness. Her work is inspired by myths and dreams, and a love of nature.
