Much of my current works are commissioned drawings, often of animals and pets and mostly completed in coloured pencil. I have always loved to make and to draw and pursued Art to A-Level before studying Art History and English at York University.
After graduating, I trained to teach secondary Art and Design. During the PGCE course I learned a great deal from other collegues, exploring new techniques and ideas and developing an interest in forms of printmaking.
Although I find myself unable to produce as much of 'my own' work as I might like to at present, teaching Art allows me to enthuse young people and encourage them to enjoy the creative process, which carries great rewards. I feel lucky to have the opportunity to be creative, in some form or other, on a daily basis.
