I have no formal art training but have always loved to draw and sometimes paint. I came to coloured pencils three years ago through seeing coloured pencil work in International Artist magazine and couldn’t believe what could be achieved. After a long time researching on the internet I decided I just had to give it a try. I bought some Prismacolor pencils off E-bay and away I went! I live in Cornwall, UK, which is an inspiration itself. I am delighted I can now buy individual Prismacolor pencils in this country from 1buy1pencils. I have tried other pencils but always return to my Prismacolors. I love Stonehenge paper and now use it all the time.

Trying to achieve realism in my work is my aim and I love to be challenged, often doing many different kinds of studies just to see what I can achieve. All the different techniques people use fascinate me and am still experimenting with what works best for me. The good thing about coloured pencil work is that it takes up very little room, is not at all messy and is extremely satisfying.

As a full-time carer for my husband who has multiple sclerosis, I find painting with coloured pencils is just the thing to make me relax but also to be on hand when needed.

I really appreciate the work of the UKCPS and the website continues to inspire as I return to it time and time again.
