Victoria Parsons UKCPS

Victoria Parsons has had a vast career as a working artist. Her first inspiration to paint and draw began at an early age when her father regularly took her badger watching in the woods that backed onto their family home in Warwickshire. Ever since then she has had a love affair with nature and a compulsion to paint and draw the beauty and fragility of the amazing life on this planet. After leaving art school in the late 60s /early 70s she has painted and drawn a myriad of nature subjects from the smallest of insects and flowers to enormous mountain ranges. Over the years she worked in Graphics studios and as a freelance illustrator, produced wildlife/pet commissions and worked as an Art teacher in schools and Colleges of Further Education. She has been featured on cable TV and her work taken to Europe and the USA. Victoria has held many solo shows and been featured in many exhibitions. She currently holds Drawing and Painting classes covering a wide range of subjects as well as courses specialising in wildlife. Over the last few years she has re- discovered the beauty of coloured pencils having worked with just about every media available to her.

Victoria also produces coloured pencil images of her beloved wolves to help raise funds for the AWS a Wolf Conservation Society.

She is a member of the UKCPS (United Kingdom Coloured Pencil Society), MIWAS (Marwell International Wildlife Society), TWASI (The Wildlife Art Society International) Friend of David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation, and Network Arts.

In 2010 she was awarded the Public Vote for best in show in the Annual UKCPS Exhibition in Stamford. In 2011 was awarded a Gold Citation in the Annual Exhibition with TWASI for her portrayal of wolves showing behaviour typical of the species.

Victoria believes that our connection to nature is as important as breathing, we all rely on each other for our existance and it is for this reason that she works, in hope that in some small way her images will help and incourage others to be aware and treasure all the diverse life and habitats on earth and above it.
