For the past twenty four years I have been creating portraits in either paint, graphite or charcoal and more recently coloured pencil; as a part of my journey as a gallery selling artist and art educator.
I am intrigued by the way people think and often wonder why we make the decisions we make. When I create a portrait my intention is to portray a person as a character acting out a certain role within their very own play. Often depicted with exaggerated poses the people in my portraits are calm, powerful heroes who have the ability to ‘claim’ their own space. These are usually people who I admire just for living out their lives the best way they know how.
I am also an author and have written four soft cover books as well as a complete drawing course.
